Nelly and Willie celebrate their 90th Birthday Year "1919 - 1990"

Nelly and Willie celebrate their 90th Birthday Year with the family last Saturday 12th September, in the beautiful setting at the Belfast Castle.

Unknown to Mum and Dad arrangements had been made with Edwin and Vera to take Mum and Dad out for dinner and on the way stop off at the Belfast Castle to take some photographs.

(Nelly and Willie)
At the same time Maureen, Jim, Kathy and myself managed to walk in behind them as the photographs were been taken.

As Dad’s birthday was not until November, arrangements were set in place when we were in Belfast back in June for the week, for us all to meet up before the wedding and our departure to New Zealand.

The evening was a huge success and enjoyed by all.
again, the Sunday was spent with Mum and Dad, firstly joined with them at church for morning service followed with lunch and a Sunday stroll along the coastal path at Whitehead, in glorious sunshine, returning for a superb dinner.

This has been a most enjoyable family get together and being in Belfast we had been very lucky with the weather all weekend.

TEQUILA AND SALT

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.
1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

Around the Corner I Have a Friend

Around the corner I have a friend
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.
And I never see my old friends face,
Life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired old men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
"Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him."
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner, yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram sir," "Jim died today."
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.
Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone, tell them.
